What’s Coming up with Penrith Players:

In the current circumstances Penrith Playhouse is closing for the foreseeable future. This means that Ivan Day’s talk about Renaissance cookery and the next play, The Mandrake, will not take place. All events will be cancelled till the end of June unless circumstances change. Our own play, Mandrake has been rescheduled for next year. If people have bought tickets on line Ticketsource will refund them. If you have bought them through the Tourist Information Office you should contact them about refunds. At this stage it is hoped that the two bookings for the end of June (Queen tribute act and 10ccelo) will still take place but we will have to see how things develop.

Mike Head, chair of the Players’ theatre committee, said: “ We are disappointed about the situation but in these difficult times there are worse things to concern us than performances. When things are better, we will be back providing the area with the entertainment they enjoy. However, we are enthusiastic about the plays going on in the New Year. Most of the casts seem keen to take part.”

Penrith Playhouse is the only permanent, Member run Theatre in Penrith, and thrives on the commitment of volunteers.

Browse the site, and then come and see what we have to offer – or even come and take part. There are not only opportunities to act on stage, but also to help with a variety of tasks behind the scenes; including set building & painting, costumes & make-up, sound & lighting, props & stage management.

We also have a comfortable bar, staffed by members, which also plays host to various live music events throughout the year.

Penrith Players continue to go from strength to strength with an undiminished commitment to putting on excellent productions in a modern, comfortable and friendly environment. We always offer a warm welcome to all new members who want to become a part of the club and would jump at the chance of getting more younger members of the community on board. There is plenty to do both on stage and behind the scenes.

The future is here —  take a part in it…
